Delmarva Power has submitted to the Maryland Public Service Commission an application to adjust energy distribution rates and implement a multi-year plan. A public prehearing conference on this matter is hereby set for Wednesday, June 15, 2022, 10 minutes after the conclusion of the Maryland Public Service Commission’s Administrative Meeting, which begins at 10:00 a.m., in the Frank O. Heintz Hearing Room, on the 16th Floor of the William Donald Schaefer Tower, 6 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, Maryland. Any petition to intervene must be filed with Andrew S. Johnston, Executive Secretary, Maryland Public Service Commission at the aforementioned address, by June 13.
As a Delmarva residential or commercial customer using solar within our service area, you may be eligible to participate in Delmarva’s Smart Inverter Management Program. This pilot program provides a way for customers to work with us to manage some of today's emerging grid challenges related to distributed energy resource (DER) and grid integration. If you participate in the program, you may receive up to $300 in compensation or receive a replacement smart inverter at no cost to you. Please see below the full list of requirements below.
This pilot program begins May 1, 2022 and will last until program funds are fully exhausted. Customers will be required to provide access to their smart inverter data for two years after program start. Data collected during the program will only be used for program operational purposes and to assess program success.
Before filling out the application, customers must meet all of the following criteria:
You will need to check if your current smart inverter is eligible for participation or if you need to purchase a qualifying smart inverter. View the full list of eligible smart inverters. If your inverter is not on the list, you may require a replacement inverter from the program. Please indicate this in the customer application.
Note that while you may have a qualifying smart inverter, a communications gateway for communication may also be required. If this is the case, the gateway and any supporting equipment will be installed at Delmarva's expense.
To apply, please download and complete the appropriate application below and sign the program terms and conditions.

Once completed, email your application to SmartInverterManagement@Exeloncorp.com.
If you have any questions about the application or smart inverter eligibility, please email us at SmartInverterManagement@Exeloncorp.com.
After submitting your application, we will review for eligibility during which time we may contact you by phone or email for additional information.*
If approved, we will schedule a visit to assess your electric equipment (electric box, smart inverter, DER and communications equipment, etc.) and install your new smart inverter if this is the option you selected. The technician also will confirm meter and smart inverter communication with Delmarva.
*Note that one or more appointments may be scheduled to complete the above.
If additional work to customer electrical equipment is required upon inspection, we will inform you and you can either choose to have a licensed electrician of your choice complete this work or you may choose not to participate in the program.
If you decide to complete any outstanding electrical work, we will schedule a time with you to confirm and complete installation of any additional program equipment.
You will receive your compensation in monthly installments in the form of a check for the duration of the program (one year). To receive the full compensation amount, you must ensure that your smart inverter maintains communication with Delmarva for the duration of the program.
If you have opted for a replacement smart inverter, the inverter and installation will be at no cost to you. However, no additional compensation will be provided. The new smart inverter must maintain communication with Delmarva for the duration of the program or you may be liable to pay the cost of the inverter.
If your smart inverter stops communicating, we will contact you to fix any issues so you can continue to participate in the program.
If you have any questions about the program, please contact us at SmartInverterManagement@Exeloncorp.com.
DISCLAIMER: Please note program eligibility and compensation depend on the equipment you have installed and how you choose to participate. Participation is limited and equipment is available only while supplies last.
