Charge Smarter With Your Electric Vehicle

Sign up for the new PIV Managed Charger Program and be one of 100 eligible customers to participate in this limited time offer. This voluntary demand response program allows you to reduce your electricity output during periods of high demand, while helping to protect our environment and reducing the cost of peak energy in our area when charging your electric vehicle at home.

How Does This Work?

The PIV Managed Charger Program is a demand response program involving you to play a significant role in the operation of the electric grid where you may have the opportunity to shift your electric vehicle charging usage during peak periods, when the stress on the electric system is the highest. You'll always have the option not to participate for any reason, or may choose to charge your vehicle at a different time.

Perks of the Program

In addition to helping the environment, there are some additional perks for you:

Get a Discount on Equipment and Installation

As a participant, you will receive a 50% discount on the cost of an eligible Level 2 charger as well as 50% off the costs of installation with a participating electrician provided to you by Delmarva Power.

Enrollment in the PIV only Time-of-Use (TOU) Rate

You will also be enrolled in a special electric rate for EVs. This special PIV only TOU rate** allows you to charge your EV at a reduced electric rate during off-peak hours (between 8 PM and 11:59AM)— lowering the cost of charging your EV at home.

Submit your completed application and provide required documentation directly to plugin@delmarva.com. Once your application is received, Delmarva will reach out to you and provide next steps.

How To Participate

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible to participate in Delmarva's EVsmart Plug-In Vehicle Managed Charger Program:

  • You must be an active Delmarva Power electric residential customer
  • You must own/lease a Maryland-registered EV with an electrical range greater than 30 miles
  • Prior to enrollment, Customers must allow Delmarva representatives perform an in-home assessment to confirm the electrical panel is in compliance with electrical standards and local jurisdictional codes. Customers will not be enrolled in the program until an in-home assessment is completed and approved by Delmarva Power.
  • You must also have a home network with a Wi-Fi connection available to the charger
  • You must have a driveway, garage or carport for the charging station
  • Customer cannot currently have an existing EV Level 2 home charger installed or received a previous rebate for an electric vehicle charging from Delmarva Power
  • Offer is limited to one Level 2 charger and one Smart Meter per Delmarva Power household

This exclusive program is limited to 100 residential customers on a first come, first served basis for eligible customers. See Customer Participation Agreement for more details.
