Six Delmarva Power Employees Honored for Their Commitment to Providing a Premier Customer Experience

NEWARK, Del. (November 28, 2018) – Delmarva Power recognized six outstanding employees with the company's annual Premiere Customer Experience Award for their work in delivering exceptional customer service over the last year. The award recognizes employees who made a difference in the lives of customers through assistance and support on important topics, such as energy bills, energy assistance programs, or service requests.  

Delmarva Power established the award as part of its ongoing efforts to continually promote a customer-focused environment and to recognize employees who go above and beyond to provide a positive customer experience.

"A call into one of our representatives may be one of the most important interactions a customer has with us," said Mike Poncia, vice president of Customer Operations for Pepco Holdings, which includes Delmarva Power. "Providing customers with a personal and thorough experience is only possible through the hard work and dedication of our team members. This award provides us with an opportunity to acknowledge those who exemplify this commitment and celebrate the continued focus on customer centricity across our company."

The employees recognized for their commitment to customer support include:

  • Stephanie Watkins, a Delaware energy advisor from New Castle, Del. who has worked for Delmarva Power for 18 years.
  • Tracey Whye, a senior outreach specialist from New Castle, Del. who has worked for Delmarva Power for 14 years.
  • George Cook, a senior outreach specialist from Wilmington, Del. who has worked for Delmarva Power for 14 years.
  • Karen Lester, a customer service representative from Wilmington, Del. who has worked for Delmarva Power for three years.
  • Genise Brown, a customer care representative from Magnolia, Del. who has worked for Delmarva Power for two years.
  • Jean Kemp, a customer care representative from Middletown, Del. who has worked for Delmarva Power for one year.

Award recipients were chosen based on feedback provided by customers and their demonstrated ability to bring together their knowledge, listening skills, and drive to deliver an exceptional customer experience. The employees also received trophies and certificates commemorating their accomplishments.
