NEWARK, Del. (April 2, 2018) – While Mother Nature might not want to make it feel like spring, it's actually here. And with summer almost in reach, Delmarva Power is providing important tips and information so customers can spring into savings. By following a few simple tips, customers can save big money and energy during the hot summer months. This spring, customers should take advantage of the mild weather to inspect their home or business and make enhancements that can lead to significant energy efficiency improvements and greater savings.
In most cases, energy efficiency adjustments can be implemented at low or no cost to customers. The following information can help everyone spring into savings this season:
Delmarva Power has a strong history of helping our customers save money and energy. Last year, more than 340,000 Delmarva Power customers together saved nearly $3.4 million by participating in Delmarva Power's Peak Savings Days programs. These programs reward customers for saving energy when demand for electricity is highest.
Customers can learn more about these programs and other programs to help reduce the cost of energy-saving improvements, as well as additional tips and resources, by visiting www.delmarva.com/waystosave or calling 1-866-353-5799. Customers are also encouraged to sign up for My Account online at www.delmarva.com or by using the Delmarva Power mobile app. My Account contains tools and detailed energy usage information. By tracking energy use, comparing usage trends, and discovering the results of energy-saving practices, customers can manage their energy more efficiently.
Saving money and energy is important. However, your safety is more important! Whether you are changing a light bulb, inspecting insulation or planting a tree, work safely. For example, always be mindful of overhead wires when using a ladder, wear proper footwear, use safety glasses and call 811 before you dig. And remember, not every job is do it yourself; work with a partner if needed and, when in doubt, call a professional.
