Del. (June 1, 2017) - The
Delaware Public Service Commission recently approved the Standard Offer Service
(SOS) rates that resulted in a
decrease on the supply portion of a Delmarva Power Delaware customer's bill.
Starting June 1, 2017, the new SOS supply rates will result in a total
annual bill decrease of 4.5 percent for Delmarva Power Delaware SOS residential
For a typical residential customer who uses 966 kilowatt
hours per month, the new rate will result in a summer bill savings of $6.76 per
month and an annual bill savings of $6.11 per month, decreasing the overall
bill from $135.43 to $129.32.
By June 1, Delmarva Power energy supply rates will be the
lowest amount since 2011 for residential customers who buy their electricity
through the SOS program. Because of this new rate, the typical Delmarva Power
customer will pay about $27 less per month for their energy supply compared to
the same time six years ago. Lower wholesale power prices, driven by lower
natural gas prices are resulting in electricity savings for Delmarva Power
Delaware residential SOS customers.
