Delmarva Power Celebrates Utility Workers on National Line Worker Appreciation Day

SALISBURY, Md. (July 8, 2016) - In celebration of National Line Worker Appreciation Day, Delmarva Power salutes the men and women who work tirelessly, day-in and day-out, to provide safe and reliable energy services to customers in Delaware and Maryland. Delmarva Power celebrates its more than 600 utility workers who operate and maintain natural gas and electric systems and respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week, often in challenging conditions, and on weekends and holidays to keep the lights on and the natural gas flowing for customers.

"Our field employees are an enduring example of the fabric of our company, built on a steadfast foundation of safety and service," said Gary Stockbridge, Delmarva Power region president. "We are deeply impressed and thankful for their tireless service and continued commitment to our customers, no matter what challenges they may face."

To honor the nation's line workers, a resolution was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives designating July 10, 2016 as National Line Worker Appreciation Day. Delmarva Power joins utility companies across the nation, including Exelon sister utilities Atlantic City Electric, BGE, ComEd, PECO and Pepco, in honoring all utility workers - both on the lines and in the field.

Join utilities nationwide in saying thank you by using the hashtag #thankalineworker on social media.
