WILMINGTON, De. - In order to maintain electric service reliability on transmission power lines in Wilmington, DE., Delmarva Power has been replacing several poles and upgrading associated infrastructure on power lines along the northbound side of State Route 41, from Kirkwood Highway to State Route 48 near Hockessin, DE.
The work includes replacing 24 transmission line poles along the route and re-tensioning the static wire along three miles of the project. Most of the replacement poles will continue to be wood poles. Eight of the replacement poles will be "weathering" steel poles.
Work began in early October and may continue through December 2015. Drivers are urged to use caution through the area due to traffic lane modifications to accommodate the safety of field personnel working along the route.
We will keep customers informed of short-duration power outages during construction.
