For Immediate Release
Wilmington, DE - The Wilmington Blue Rocks have officially joined forces
with Delmarva Power to present Military
Mondays during the 2015 season. The partnership will feature $1 tickets
for Military Service
Men & Women, both active and retired.
"We are excited to honor and highlight some of
our biggest fans - members of
the United States Armed Forces,"
said Kevin P. Linton, director of community affairs. "As Americans, we are very fortunate to experience the many freedoms
that we have, and it is a privilege
to honor those men and women who are or who
have made it a priority to defend those freedoms that we enjoy every day."
Members of the military
are asked to simply present their Military I.D. at the Blue Rocks ticket
windows on Mondays to receive the $1 ticket. The Blue Rocks
will feature Military
Mondays on May 11, May 25, June 15, July 27 and September
7. All military personnel (active and retired)
can also receive
$2 off per ticket at any non-Monday Blue Rocks home game.
Each Monday home game, Delmarva Power will be present
on the Blue Rocks concourse, interacting with customers. Delmarva Power will feature
visits by its human resources department, discussing potential jobs and career moves with active military
members and retired
veterans. Additionally, fans will be able to find energy
advisors at select Monday
games, demonstrating how current
and future customers can save money on their energy bills, as well as educate
them on how to become more energy efficient.
"Delmarva Power is proud to sponsor Military Mondays
all season long partnering
with the Blue Rocks," said Gary Stockbridge, Delmarva Power President and DE Employer
Support for the Guard and Reserve
"Supporting, embracing, respecting
and working with all branches of the
military is an enjoyable ongoing mission throughout our service
territory and the entire state. We welcome everyone to join us each Military
Monday as we honor our
nation's heroes and enjoy
our nation's pastime."
