Test Conservation Period Called for Energy Wise Rewards Customers

SALISBURY, Md. - For customers participating in Delmarva Power's voluntary Energy Wise Rewards program, a conservation period will be called from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday in order to test equipment.

Delmarva Power will cycle participants' air conditioner compressors off and on for short intervals during these hours. Due to minimal air conditioner use because of the anticipated mild weather, customers are not expected to notice any significant change in comfort.

It may take up to a half-hour after the test event ends at 4 p.m. for air conditioners to resume normal operations.

Energy Wise Rewards is a voluntary program that offers customers a choice of a programmable thermostat or an outdoor switch, which the utility installs at no charge to customers. During summer periods of peak electric demand, Energy Wise Rewards works to reduce electricity usage by cycling air conditioner compressors off and on for short periods during times of peak electricity use. Customers will receive a bill reduction in return for allowing Delmarva Power to cycle their air conditioners a few days each year.

Customers can learn more about Energy Wise Rewards by calling 1-866-353-5799 or visiting www.delmarva.com/rewards.
