Focus on helping income-eligible families better manage winter heating bills
DOVER, Del. - With many customers struggling to pay their monthly energy bill, Delmarva Power and its sister utility Pepco hosted a daylong summit today aimed at finding long-term solutions to helping limited-income households better manage their winter heating bills.
"We recognize the significant number of people across our service territories who struggle month after month to pay their energy bill," said Gary Stockbridge, President, Delmarva Power Region. "This annual summit is an opportunity to collaborate with service agency representatives in our service territory and bring them the information they need to better assist our greatest asset - the customer."
This year's annual Low-Income Energy Assistance Summit hosted more than 150 social service agency representatives from Maryland and Delaware at the Sheraton Dover Hotel in Delaware. The summit gave service providers valuable information and tools to better assist limited-income households, many of whom have difficulty paying their energy bills.
The summit included workshops, exhibits and presentations from advocates at the local, state and national levels. This year's keynote speaker was Kenneth Parker, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Corporate Citizenship for Pepco Holdings, Inc.
