Cambridge, Md., Customers Will Get Opportunity to Participate in Special Promotion
CAMBRIDGE, Md. - Delmarva Power will host "Community Energy Awareness Day" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29 at Dorchester Elks Lodge #223, located at 618 Pine Street in Cambridge, Md. The utility's customers will receive information on how to participate in the utility's Quick Home Energy Check-up.
A Quick Home Energy Check-up is a walk-through home energy inspection conducted by a qualified surveyor who will identify ways to save energy and provide information on other programs that improve energy efficiency. The Quick Home Energy Check-up is a $40 value. This fee will be waived if the surveyor is allowed to install -- at no cost to the customer -- at least three recommended energy-saving products during the inspection, such as: compact fluorescent light bulbs, electric water heater tank and pipe wrap, low-flow showerheads, and kitchen faucet or bath aerators.
"Cambridge customers who sign up during 'Community Energy Awareness Day' can schedule a Quick Home Energy Check-up for that same day or a future date," said Charles Driggs, Delmarva Power's Energy Program Manager. "A Quick Home Energy Check-up provides our customers with an opportunity to reduce their energy usage which means they may see lower electric bills."
"Community Energy Awareness Day" will also include refreshments and giveaway items for customers.
Delmarva Power plans to conduct similar energy efficiency promotional events in several Maryland towns this year. To find out more about Delmarva Power's energy efficiency programs, call 1-866-353-5799.
