Delmarva Power, State Energy Office & Community Agencies Partner for Outreach Effort
NEWARK, Del. - Delaware utility customers will receive energy-related information at an Energy Assistance and Awareness Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, at the Wilmington Department of Parks and Recreation, WG Turner Building, 500 Wilmington Ave., Wilmington, Delaware.
Representatives from Delmarva Power, Delaware Energy Office, Interfaith Community Housing of Delaware, First State Community Action Agency and Neighborhood House will provide information on utility bill payment assistance programs, fuel and weatherization assistance and sources of help with housing and supportive family services to those at the fair.
"It's important that people are aware of the numerous energy assistance programs out there," said Michael Hoy, customer and community relations manager, Delmarva Power. "We will also make sure customers have the information they need to save energy in their homes, which should help reduce their utility bill."
Applications for fuel and weatherization assistance and other services may be taken at the fair, so customers should bring pertinent information such as a social security card, copies of utility bills, income documentation and a copy of a lease if renting.
It is not necessary for utility customers who have already applied for financial assistance through the Delaware Energy Assistance Program to reapply at this fair.
Delmarva Power, a public utility owned by Pepco Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: POM), provides safe and reliable energy to nearly 500,000 electric delivery customers in Delaware and Maryland and over 121,000 natural gas delivery customers in northern Delaware .
