Area Utilities and Community Agencies to Provide Help for Delaware Customers

Special Fair to Offer Financial and Social Service Assistance

SALISBURY, Md. -- Delaware utility customers will be able to receive energy-related information at an Energy Assistance and Awareness Fair from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3 at Del Tech's Corporate Training Center in Dover, Del. Representatives from Delmarva Power, Delaware Electric Cooperative, Chesapeake Utilities, Delaware Energy Office, Interfaith Community Housing of Delaware and Neighborhood House will provide information on utility bill payment assistance programs, fuel and weatherization assistance and sources of help with housing and supportive family services.

"We will provide information on energy auditing and heating systems as well as tips on how to save energy," said Michael Hoy, customer and community relations manager, Delmarva Power. "Attendees will also have the chance to win a weatherization kit and other prizes."

Applications for fuel and weatherization assistance and other services may be taken at the fair, so customers should bring pertinent information such as a social security card, copies of utility bills, income documentation and a copy of a lease if renting.

It is not necessary for utility customers who have already applied for financial assistance through the Delaware Energy Assistance Program to reapply.
