Newark, DE - The winter storm has caused wide-spread outages across Delmarva Power's service territory. Ice on trees has caused tree branches and trees to fall into power lines and ice on power lines has caused numerous and wide spread outages. In some cases the poles carrying power lines have been snapped in half by the storm. All available personnel are working to restore service as quickly as possible, but travel and weather conditions are hampering restoration efforts. The high winds that are forecasted for the rest of the day may cause additional outages, further complicating restoration efforts.
Customers should stay away from downed lines or wires, treating them as if they are live. We're asking customers to call us if they are out of power, so that we can target resources to the hardest hit areas as quickly as possible.
We appreciate your patience as we work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible in the aftermath of this winter storm.
