Delmarva Power reminds customers that all of the utility's employees have photo identification cards, and those cards are to be prominently displayed at all times. This reminder comes one day after a Frankford, Del., woman opened her door to a man who claimed to be from Delmarva Power but who had no identification.
"This man said he was at the home to save the customer money and wanted to measure each room in the woman's house," said Matt Likovich, Delmarva Power spokesman. "No one from Delmarva Power would ever just show up at anyone's home or business without proper identification."
Delmarva Power advises customers to ask for official photo identification from any person who shows up at their homes or businesses and claims to be a Delmarva Power employee. If proper identification cannot be produced, customers should notify the local police and Delmarva Power. Delmarva Power's customer service number is 1-800-375-7117.
