Significant Progress Made, Work Continues Until Completed
NEWARK, Del. – Delmarva Power announced this afternoon that significant progress has been made with power being restored for approximately 16,000 customers in New Castle County, Del., and Cecil County, Md., who lost electricity in the wake of Friday’s severe thunderstorms. As of 3:30 this afternoon, about 4,200 customers in those two counties are still without power.
“Our crews continue to make headway in restoring power and we will continue to use all employees and support personnel as needed until all of our customers have electric service,” said Gary Stockbridge, Delmarva Power Region President. “Our goal is to have the majority of customers back in service by late tonight, however there could be some small pockets of outages that might not be cleared up until sometime Sunday afternoon.”
Customers are urged to report power outages by calling 1-800-898-8042. To report a Delmarva Power natural gas emergency, customers should call 302-454-0317.
