Delmarva Power Electrical Work Will Result in I-95 Lane Closures
Monday, May 14, 2012NEWARK, Del. – Delmarva Power announced that effective Monday, May 21, I-95 motorists will encounter nighttime lane closures in both directions between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. between the Routes 896 and 273 exits near Newark, Del. These lane closures are necessary while Delmarva Power contract crews replace electrical conduit located under the Chapman Road Bridge, which crosses over I-95.
The lane closures could affect up to three lanes in either direction and may last up to eight weeks. Additionally, the north and southbound accesses to the I-95 Delaware Travel Plaza (Rest Area), located between the two exits, will be affected, requiring motorists to exit and re-enter I-95 to gain access to the Rest Area. Detour routes will be marked.
Delmarva Power appreciates the patience and understanding of motorists traveling through this work zone as the company works to complete this project as safely and as quickly as possible.
