Delaware Utilities to Hold Outreach Sessions

Delaware Community Agencies Invited to Learn More about Utility Business
NEWARK , Del. -- Area social service agencies will be able to receive utility-related information at outreach sessions to be held in Delaware from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at the Cheer Community Center in Georgetown, and on Thursday, Feb. 24 at the Delmarva Power Conference Center in Newark.
Representatives from Delmarva Power, Delaware Electric Cooperative, Chesapeake Utilities, Tidewater Utilities, Artesian Water, United Water, Delaware Public Service Commission and Delaware Division of the Public Advocate will provide details on the services they offer to Delaware residents.
Attendees will receive information on the following:
· Utility service disconnection policies
· Availability of funds to pay utility bills
· How government budget cuts will affect weatherization and community action programs
· Utility storm restoration policies and procedures
· The role of the Public Advocate and Public Service Commission
“We believe these outreach sessions will provide an opportunity for social service, utility and government representatives to share useful information,” said Michael Hoy, customer and community relations manager for Delmarva Power.
