Pepco Holdings, Inc., Holds Low-Income Energy Assistance Summit

Wednesday, October 06, 2010

DOVER, Del. – Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI), the parent company of Delmarva Power, hosted more than 150 social service agency representatives from Delaware, Maryland and Washington, D.C., at a daylong, interactive Low-Income Energy Assistance Summit on Wednesday in Dover, Del.

The summit gave service providers valuable information to better assist low-income utility customers, many of whom have difficulty paying their energy bills.

“The summit represented an avenue through which Pepco Holdings continues to solidify its partnership with the social service agencies that help our customers on a regular basis,” said Charles R. Dickerson, PHI’s Vice President of Customer Care. “By enhancing our coordination and cooperation with social service agencies, we hope to improve our service to our customers.”

The summit included workshops and speaker presentations from advocates at the local, state and national levels.

While there are programs that help customers learn to use energy wisely and obtain financial assistance to pay energy bills, the goal of the summit was to make sure this information reaches those who need it.
