Participate in Energy Awareness Month with ‘My Account’
Friday, October 10, 2008
NEWARK, Del. – October is Energy Awareness Month – a great reason for consumers to learn more about their individual energy usage and commit to reducing it – both to benefit the planet and their pocketbooks.
To help customers learn how to save energy and money, Delmarva Power offers a free, interactive tool on its Web site, www.delmarva.com, called “My Account.” The Web-based service enables customers to create their own personal energy profile based on the size of their home, the number of people living in it, the age of their appliances and other necessary information – all of which is used to determine ways they can reduce their energy costs.
Delmarva Power launched “My Account” more than two years ago; since then, thousands of customers have logged on to learn how to save energy at home.
Here’s what is needed to register to use “My Account”:
- A recent Delmarva Power bill because you’ll be asked for your account number and the exact name on the account;
- Go to www.delmarva.com;
- Click “My Account”; and
- Register to use the tool to start saving energy and money.
While the use of “My Account” is limited to Delmarva Power customers, the company also offers a variety of ideas for saving energy and money on its Web site, www.delmarva.com, in the “Our Energy Future” section.
Delmarva Power, a public utility owned by Pepco Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: POM), provides safe and reliable energy to nearly 500,000 electric delivery customers in Delaware and Maryland and over 121,000 natural gas delivery customers in northern Delaware .
