Delaware Electric Rate Increase

Phase In - Residential Customer

Under the phase-in plan, your total bill will increase relative to your current bill as follows:

  • Step 1:   15% on May 1, 2006;
  • Step 2:   25% on January 1, 2007;
  • Step 3:   17% on June 1, 2007, assuming no further increase in wholesale prices;
  • Step 4:   Customers will begin to pay back the amount deferred (a total of approximately $415) beginning January 1, 2008 through June 1, 2009.  This balance will be spread and billed equally during these 17 months (approximately $24 a month).  All figures are for a typical customer in this rate class.

Notes:

No Phase-in - The $146 is an annualized amount for an RS customer using 1,000 kWh every month.

Phase-in - The example above uses a calculated average bill, which reflects appropriate summer/winter rates based on the months in that period. Any differences other than zero are due to rounding.
