Smart meters are equipped with technology that allows two-way communications between your home or business and Delmarva Power. The meter records your daily energy use, and in the future you will have access to the data to monitor your own energy use.
Energy information from your smart meter will help you make decisions about your energy use and help you target ways to save. You also can learn through our online energy-audit tool My Account about ways to lower energy bills.
Most residential and business customers will receive new smart meters during 2010. Delmarva Power’s goal is to have all of its old meters exchanged with smart meters for Delaware customers by early 2011. We also are updating our gas meters so that customers also will have access to their daily energy use..
