Gary R. Stockbridge is President of the Delmarva Power Region for Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI), a regional energy holding company that provides utility service to about 2 million customers. PHI is the parent company of Potomac Electric Power Company, an electric utility serving Washington, D.C., and suburban Maryland; Delmarva Power, an electric and gas utility serving Delaware and the rest of the Delmarva Peninsula; and Atlantic City Electric, an electric utility serving southern New Jersey.
Mr. Stockbridge joined the company in 1997 to run the competitive retail energy business selling electric and natural gas to customers in the Northeast. In 2000, Mr. Stockbridge was promoted to Vice President, Customer Care, in the regulated utility and remained in that position until 2005, when he was named President of the Delmarva Power region.
He has more than 30 years of utility experience, having come from PECO Energy located in Philadelphia. Mr. Stockbridge’s experience includes operations, marketing, government affairs and customer care in both the regulated and competitive energy fields. He was responsible for the startup of retail energy affiliates for both Conectiv and PECO Energy.
Mr. Stockbridge received his undergraduate degree in engineering and a M.B.A in Finance from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
Mr. Stockbridge is the board President for the Workforce Investment Board in Delaware appointed by Governor Jack Markell, President of the Board for United Way of Delaware, Board Member of the Red Cross on the Delmarva Peninsula, Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Chesapeake Bay council of the Girl Scouts, Chairman of the Advisory Board for Kingswood Community Center. He serves as an active board member and teacher for Junior Achievement of Delaware, executive Board Member for the State of Delaware Chamber of Commerce, and member of board of the Delaware Public Policy Institute.
